The Spirit of Christmas is upon us.

My favorite candle, Thymes Frazier Fir, makes the house smell like a fresh cut Christmas tree.

Christmas Eve: Sausage Tidbits, Warm Caramel Corn and games in front of the fire (Uno, Cribbage, Yahtzee and Dominos) with Cam, Justin, Erik and Lauren

Christmas Day: Coffee & Monkeybread while checking out our stockings.

Sausage Tidbits - a Sallenbach favorite!!!!!!
1 lb. ground sausage (uncooked)
8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 c. Bisquick
Shape into small balls, about 1" in size.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet, spaced apart about an inch.
Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 to 30 minutes, or until well browned, flipping over the tidbits halfway through. Remove from oven and drain on several layers of paper towels.

Microwave Caramel Corn
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 stick margarine
1/2 tsp salt
4 quarts popped corn

Mix brown sugar, margaine, corn syrup and salt together in a 8 cup covered glass bown. Microwave on high to boiling (2 minutes). Cook for 2 more minutes on high. Remove and stir in baking soda until foamy. Put popcorn in grocery sack, pour syrup over popcorn and stir well. Fold and put in mocrowave on high for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove sack and shake well. Cook for 1/1/2 minutes longer. Take out and put on cookie sheet and stir as it cools.

MONKEY BREAD
Combine & Melt:
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 sticks butter

4 cans biscuits

Mix in bowl, set aside:
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Melt the first three ingredients and boil for 2 minutes. Cut each biscuit into 4 sections. Roll each piece in last 2 ingredients. Layer in greased 9x13 pan. Pour boiled mixture over it. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour (or until done). Cool in pan for 15 minutes then turn out on plate and serve while still warm.
